When a disaster happens, it is an opportunity to see the best (but sadly, sometimes also the worst) in and among people.  The beauty and the beast, so to  speak.  This is sharing of personal narrative, never designed to be in scholarly fashion, but primarily written as a tribute, a salute to all the good women and men who, in one way or another, gave a part of themselves, in time of need for others.  This is in celebration of the natural goodness of the human spirit (regardless of religion and ethnicity) as well as humbly, a gentle reminder of our humanity.

BOR elects new Deans

A new set of deans of the various colleges/academic units  was elected by the Mindanao State University Board of Regents (BOR) in its recent 219th Meeting held at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson’s Conference Room, HEDC Building, C.P. Garcia Avenue, UP Diliman on June 27, 2012. Installation of the new deans will be held on Wednesday, 1:30 pm July 4, 2012, at the Dimaporo Gymnasium.

Mindanao State University celebrates Golden Jubilee September 1

CNSM Celebrates 27th Science Week

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics celebrated the 27th Science week Celebration last February 20-24, 2012, with the theme: CNSM’s Call for Environmental Awareness Curbing Natural Calamities. The opening program was made more meaningful by the presence of our guest speaker, Prof. Lily Montebon Alquiza, a former faculty member of the Biology Department (From 1980 to 1982) and now a Professor at the Trinity College of Asia, Quezon City. Exhibits were held by the four departments and they were visited by elementary, high school and college students of nearby schools.

MSU forms Team Gold

Mindanao State University (MSU) turns 50 by September 1, 2011! In preparation for the Golden Anniversary of the University, President Macapado A. Muslim signed  a Special Order on December 28, 2011 creating the working committee to spearhead the line-up of activities for the celebration. The working committee, dubbed Team Gold is chaired by Executive Vice-President Datumanong Sarangani and concurrently the University Secretary,  a pioneering alumnus  of the University.

Getting to Know the 6th MSU System President

Dr. Macapado Abaton Muslim was appointed on March 5, 2010 by Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal as the 6th regular President of the now 11-campus Mindanao State University System. Hon. Patricia Sto. Tomas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development Bank of the Philippines, administered his oath. He was Acting President of MSU from January 4, 2008 to March 4, 2010. It should be noted that Dr. Muslim ranked No. 1 in the 2005 Search for the MSU Presidency authorized by the Office of the President of the Philippines. Reportedly, he was also among the front-runners in the 1999 Search for MSU President, despite his young age at the time.

Modification No. LAN RB-BO2 is issued to revise the Price Proposal Form. The new form is attached as Annex 1. Moreover, the date for the opening of bids is hereby moved to May 27, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the OP Conference Room of Isidro Hall, MSU Main Campus, Marawi City. Bids proposals will still be accepted in the same venue as the opening no later than 9:59 A.M. May 27, 2013. No bids will be accepted after 9:59 A.M.

 

Invitation to Bid: Local Area Network (LAN) and Various Infrastructure Projects

The Mindanao State University, Marawi City (MSU-Main), through the Commission on Higher Education, Disbursement Acceleration Program Fund (CHED-DAPF), intends to apply the sum of Eleven Million Pesos (It 11,000,000.00) and Twenty five Mil/ion Nine Hundred Thirty Eight thousand Pesos (It 25,938,000.00) as the Approved Budget for the Contract (ABC) for payment for the Supply and Delivery of Local Area Network (LAN) for MSU-Main Campus, Marawi City and construction of various infrastructure projects for MSU Naawan and MSU Maguindanao. Bid received in excess of the ABC per project shall be automatically rejected at bid opening.
