The History Department of Mindanao State University (Marawi) gladly invites you to the Afternoon Session of its “7th Webinar sa Kasaysayan” on 11 March 2023. The theme is “Rizal and Local History”.
Our speakers are both youngblood pillars of two of the respected historical societies in the country, the Philippine National Historical Society (PNHS) and Asosasyon ng mga Dalubhasa, May Hilig at Interes sa Kasaysayan (ADHIKA) ng Pilipinas, Inc.
*Prof. George Emmanuel R. Borrinaga, Ph.D. of the University of San Carlos (Cebu) will tackle the impact of Rizal’s martyrdom on the local historical experiences of various communities in eastern Visayas and northern Mindanao.
*Prof. Kristoffer R. Esquejo, Ph.D. of the University of the Philippines (Diliman) will discuss the concepts and meanings of local history and present the history of the province of Romblon as a model for local historical research.
