About The Department

Communication and media studies is an interdisciplinary degree that blends skills in media and communication with social sciences and humanities that allows students to become media practitioners and professionals in this 21st century global village.

The department was created by virtue of BOR No. 246 S. 2007 as a response to the need of the internationalization of the Mindanao State University. Being one of the youngest departments in the university, its golas is geared towards the development of the students to reach their full potentials in contributing to the world of media and technology today.
