About The Department

The Master of Arts in Nursing, now Master of Science in Nursing is a graduate program of the College of Health Sciences which was established year 2006 to cater the needs of the Professional Nurses working in the Academe and different health care settings for advance educational services that shall help them develop and enrich their leadership and management roles as current/future nurse supervisors, managers and administrators in the different field of healthcare delivery system. This Program shall equip the nurses to be competent in terms of advanced knowledge, skills and attitudes in leading and directing the health care settings to ensure the quality provisions of health care services and safety of internal and external stakeholders. 

This program shall also develop competencies of nurses in conducting academic and health related researches that shall generate new knowledge and uplift the nursing standards. This shall also capacitate professional nurses to introduce innovations in system designs and processes to level up working culture and environment. the courses in the program are taught by qualified faculty members of the College who are holders of Graduate Degrees (Master of Arts in Nursing/Master of Science in Nursing/Doctor of Science in Nursing/PhD in Nursing), had administrative experiences and were able to present and published their researches in international refereed journals.

It aims to produce globally competitive health care leaders, managers an innovators contributing to holistic wellness of the population, are involved in nation building and in promoting peace and development.

CHS – Graduate Department is also committed to be the leading academic department of MSU in the promotion and development of advanced higher education in the field of nursing academe, administration and practice at par with global standards.

DSN 313 CONDUCTED SEMINAR ON ETHICAL AND LEGAL DIMENSIONS OF OLDER ADULT CARE IN ISLAM: A SHARIAH PERSPECTIVE.

DSN 313 hosted an insightful seminar on the Ethical and Legal Dimensions of Older Adult Care in Islam: A Shariah Perspective, featuring guest speakers Dr. Abdulcader M. Ayo, Aleem Salahoden S. Macadadaya and Atty. Ashyanna Alexine Adia Amina-Labi A. Bangcola, held at Mamitua Saber. A thought-provoking discussion on the intersection of faith, ethics, and elder care.
