WENDEL T. LONTUA is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in FISHERIES major in Aquaculture at Mindanao State University-Main Campus and finished his Master of Arts in Education major in Guidance and Counseling at Muslim Mindanao Integrated College Academy. He has worked in the Basic Education with Philippine Integrated School Foundation, Inc., Al-Farabi International Academy, and Department of Education, Iligan City Division for seven (7) years in total as a Secondary Teacher and Administrator. Raising awareness as his passion, he has worked with Community and Family Services International as a Community Organizer, Technical Specialist, and Assistant Project Officer for two (2) years to the far-flung barangays of Sarangani Province, Sultan Kudarat, Lanao del Sur, and Lanao del Norte. As a Licensed Professional Teacher with a major in Agri-Fishery Arts he earned national certificates from TESDA for Events and Management Services NCIII, Bread and Pastry Production NCII and Aquaculture NCII. Subsequently, gained his national certifications as accredited TESDA Competency Assessor for BPP NCII and Aquaculture NCII. Awarded with “Noteworthy Achievement Award for Humanitarian Endeavor and Educator of the Year” by Gintong Parangal 2021 and “Outstanding Educator and Humanitarian Advocate of the Millennium” by Asia Pacific Luminare Award 2021, he has continued his pursuit for quality education through writing expository article entitled “Classroom Management in Perspective: Theory, Process, and Skills”, and a literary piece entitled “ MSUJUAN, Locally Grounded, Globally Angled, Championing Peace and Development” published in INSTABRIGHT e-GAZETTE Volume II, Issue IV, May 2021. He recently co-authored an article entitled “Kapamuo sa Udang: Lake Lanao’s Shrimp Fishers” in the e-book of TBTI Philippines a consortium of the University of the Philippines at the Visayas and other State Universities and Colleges. Also, he writes articles for the quarterly official University Newsletter of MSU-Main. Currently, he is a faculty member of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and designated as Special Assistant to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
