A PhilHealth Konsulta Package Benefit orientation was conducted for MSU employees by the PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) Marawi, led by Ms. Kassandra Louisa M. Mamainte. The event took place on September 23, 2024, at the MSU International Convention Center, following the flag ceremony. The primary goals of the activity were to familiarize employees with PhilHealth’s programs and encourage them to utilize its services.
Presidential Management Staff (PMS) Director Atty. Rashid V. Pandi, representing MSU System President Atty. Basari D. Maapupuno, delivered the opening remarks. He also emphasized the importance of affordable and accessible healthcare for all MSU employees and expressed gratitude to PhilHealth for providing quality healthcare insurance to numerous Filipinos.
Amer Hamza T. Lucman of LHIO Marawi provided a comprehensive overview of the state-run health insurance corporation, including its fundamental concept of “Bayanihan,” which aims to safeguard member contributions and ensure the delivery of quality healthcare services. He stressed the importance of Universal Health Care and PhilHealth’s vital role in achieving this goal. Additionally, he urged the participants to firmly practice the 4M principles of PhilHealth, such as Magparehistro (Register), Magbayad ng Kontribusyon (Pay Contributions), Mag-update ng Record (Update Records), and Magclaim ng Benepisyo (Claim Benefits).
During the orientation, MSU employees learned about the various benefits of the PhilHealth Konsulta Package Benefit. They were also shown how to access the program in various accredited hospitals and healthcare providers located in Lanao del Sur. PhilHealth’s Konsulta Package Benefit provides members with free medical consultations with general practitioners and specialists, as well as coverage for the cost of medicines prescribed by doctors.
Other MSU officials present at the event included Assistant Vice President for Planning and Development Dr. Oding L. Ma-amor and Chief Accountant Tarhata M. Capal, CPA, JD.
