The Mamitua Saber Research Center (MSCRC) was officially renamed to the Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation (MSIRC) considering its expanded mandate, which now includes promoting and supporting the production of creative works such as literary, artistic, and cultural endeavors, in addition to its existing research initiatives. The change was approved by the MSU Board of Regents during its 268th meeting, through Resolution No. 368, Series of 2024.
MSIRC has been a significant hub for scholarly research and intellectual discourse. It was named after Dr. Mamitua Saber, a prominent Filipino intellectual and cultural figure. Through his efforts, the institute has been known for its contributions to various disciplines through productive research and publications since 1974.
This renaming marks a significant milestone for the institute and the university, reflecting its commitment to excellence in research and its dedication to fostering creativity and innovation. With the expanded mandate, the institute is poised to play an even more important role in the cultural and intellectual life in MINSUPALA.
