The MSU College of Law envisions to be a leading academic institution committed to the attainment of social justice through legal education.
Mission
1. Produce and continue producing members of the legal profession of competence and integrity;
2. Contribute towards the promotion and advancement of justice and the improvement of its administration.
Goals
1. Prepare its students to the practice of law;
2. Inculcate upon our students an awarness and commitment to the needs of the deprived and oppressed sectors of our society;
3. Bring legal service to the people through legal aid programs and other external services;
4. Assist in the development of Islamic Law and Jurisprudence and the Philippine legal system and legal institution in the light of historical and contemporary development of law in the country and other countries in the world.
Objectives
1. To impart to the students of law a broad knowledge of law, including the Shari’ah, and its various fields, and of legal institutions;
2. To develop the ability of our students to search for the law and to analyze, articulate, and apply it effectively to legal problems and issue;
3. To prepare law students to advocacy, both in the regular and Shari’ah courts, counseling, and decision-making;
4. To become the nucleus of leadership training directed towards the achievement of the state policy of integration and national solidarity;
5. To develop competence in the law students in a chosen field of law for gainful employment;
6. To serve as a foundation for future training beyond the basic professional degree, and to develop in them the desire and capacity for continuing study and self-improvement;
7. To assist in the development of Shari’ah through the production of lawyers who are also knowledgeable of both Shari’ah and Philippine laws and provide an avenue for the training, selection, and qualification of Shari’ah Judges;
8. To inculcate in the studentry and lawyers the ethics and responsibilities of the legal profession.
