The Elementary Teaching Department offers Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education all in compliance with the materialization of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 or the K to 12 Curriculum (CMO 20 s.2012 or the RA 10533) and the CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) 46 s. 2012. The curriculum applied undergoes continuous assessments, revisions, and enhancement to integrate recent trends and developments in society, and to cater to the current needs, interests, or abilities of the learners.
These two undergraduate programs were created under BOR No. 357, S. 2017.

The BECEd program is composed of a minimum of 158 units which comprises of General Education Courses (36 units), Professional Education Courses (42 units), Major Courses (63 units), Special Topic (3 units), and Mandated Courses (14 units).
This BECEd program is designed to prepare students for teaching and supporting young children’s development. A broad range of employment opportunities is available by fulfilling the degree requirements. Completion of the appropriate program will qualify graduates for employment in government or private institutions.
The BEEd program is composed of a minimum of 161 units which comprises General Education Courses (36 units), Professional Education Courses (48 units), Major Courses (54 units), Special Topics (6 units), and Mandated Courses (14 units).
The BEEd is an undergraduate teacher education degree program designed to prepare individuals intending to teach at the elementary level. It aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in content and pedagogy for elementary education.
The first three colleges of the University were first formally organized in the academic year 1962-1963; As the Univesity progresses, the College of Liberal Arts was split into two colleges namely: the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities; College of Community Development and Public Administration now the College of Public Affairs and the College of Education.
With the prevailing demand for quality elementary teachers who are imbued with essential pedagogical competencies in handling kindergarteners and elementary pupils, these two programs place a strong emphasis on employing developmentally appropriate practices aligned with an outcome-based approach and carrying out values for both life-long learning and employment.
