GOALS OF THE ACADEMIC UNIT

To provide better learning on advances in agricultural production; equip students with technical-know- how on advances in agricultural production; To demonstrate the ethics and principles in food production; and To enhance the student’s capability and potential preparing them to become proactive leaders and practitioners towards the country’s food security.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

Update BS Agribusiness curricular program and instructions aligned with CHED OBE requirements, industry needs, and various accreditation agencies and global standards. Develop stable linkages with at least ten research agencies and private sectors both locally and abroad. To provide a complete line of up-to-date and relevant instructional materials Integrate/include values education in each lesson of all courses. Establish at least 2 pilot agribusiness projects which will serve as models for the students in developing agribusiness ventures and for the development of technologies for extension services. Create agribusiness incubators that will provide in-campus training for students to start their own businesses. Offer online certificate/degree programs for distant learners/students who wish to enroll in an agribusiness program.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT

1. Demonstrate well-developed analytical skills, specifically in terms of critical reasoning and technical expertise related to Agribusiness, economic development, financial analysis, operational sustainability and other complex decision-making situations. 2. Understand biological and technical agricultural courses and their relationship to Agribusiness decision-making. 3. Develop skills necessary for day-to-day business operations and career advancement in a variety of agribusiness and/ or government organizations. 4. Develop effective leadership and management skills that can effectively evaluate and communicate agribusiness information, and understand and appreciate broader issues relevant to agribusiness.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN AGRICULTURE MAJOR IN FOOD PROCESSING

1. Demonstrate well-developed effective and efficient skills, specifically in terms of food evaluation and technical expertise related to food processing or manufacturing, food analysis, operational sustainability of food businesses and institutions; 2. Understand biological and technical agricultural courses and their relationship to food production and food processing 3. Develop skills necessary in transforming raw agricultural products to finish product and career advancement in a variety of food businesses and government food organizations; and 4. Develop food preparation and food management skills that can effectively evaluate and communicate food safety information, and understand and appreciate broader issues relevant to the food industry.

DIPLOMA IN AGRIBUSINESS MANAGEMENT MAJOR IN FOOD PROCESSING

1. Participate actively in the country's growing food industry; 2. Acquire simple research skills to be applied in product development 3. Apply skills in food selection and preparation to develop new products 4. Acquire entrepreneurial spirit which will inspire them to set up their own businesses; 5. Acquire skills in improving traditional food products; and 6. Establish linkages within the food industry sector.
