The curriculum was discussed, deliberated, and unanimously approved by the three (3) System Campuses – MSU Marawi, MSU-IIT, and MSU-General Santos. The justification changing the college name is primarily based on the consideration that professional identity is a crucial motivating factor in ensuring the success of the accountancy education program. Therefore, it is proposed that the profession itself be included in the name or title of the college. Moreover, CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 3, Series of 2007 emphasized that since Accountancy is now a distinct course and is no longer under the BSBA program, it can be included in the name of the college. On July 25, 2007, the system-wide change in the college name from College of Business Administration to College of Business Administration and Accountancy was finally approved through BOR Resolution #102 Series of 2007.

Mission
The College of Business Administration and Accountancy, through the joint efforts of dedicated, competent, and effective faculty members, staff, and college administrators, aims to produce globally competent, socially responsible, moral, ethical, and well-rounded graduates. These graduates will meet the demand for technical services or human resources, or establish their own businesses, thereby creating employment opportunities.
Goals
- To promote academic excellence by enhancing faculty competence and effectiveness; developing quality and disciplined students; relevant and updated curricular offerings; and adequate physical facilities, updated equipment and instructional materials.
- To conduct research and extension programs. The impact of the university to the community will be more sustainable if research and extension projects are intensified through services relevant to the needs of the people, thus, the faculty, staff and even students of the college shall take active part in conducting research and extension projects.
- To launch income-generating projects.
- To establish linkages with private sectors, to explore and be updated with current practices in the real business world.
