The College of Education consists of four (4) departments namely the Department of Elementary Teaching, the Department of Secondary Teaching, the Department of Home Economics, and the Department of Graduate Education.
With the prevailing low literacy rate of the youth of some parts of Mindanao and the emergence of ideologies confronting, the College of Education takes the lead in producing competitive and effective teachers who can transform society.

Objectives
The first three colleges of the University were first formally organized in the academic year 1962-1963; As the Univesity progresses, the College of Liberal Arts was split into two colleges namely: the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the College of Social Sciences and Humanities; College of Community Development and Public Administration now the College of Public Affairs and the College of Education.
With its aspiration of becoming at par with top universities and in adherence to maintaining quality assurance in instruction, standards, and administration, Mindanao State University–Marawi currently undergoes an ocular inspection in order to acquire a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Ministry of Basic, Higher & Technical Education (MBHTE) in Muslim Mindanao Government. COPC is a recognition that specific degree programs offered by SUCs/LUCs are fully compliant with the policies, standards, and guidelines of CHED/MHBTE.
