Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department Objectives, Program Educational Objectives, and Outcomes

Department Objectives

 

  1. To sustain quality faculty members and develop them academically, technically, professionally, and holistically;
  2. To sustain quality students and develop them academically, technically, and holistically;
  3. To sustain the acquisition and development of appropriate laboratory and other support facilities including related equipment, programs, and services;
  4. To sustain, expand, and further develop quality, relevant, and responsive curriculum in electrical and electronics engineering;
  5. To sustain endeavour towards the simplification of bureaucracy ensuring prompt availability of research funds;
  6. To explore, expand, and develop electrical and electronics engineering and related researches which are relevant to the MINSUPALA Region as well as the Philippines and the ASEAN;
  7. To explore, sustain, expand, and develop linkages with local and foreign agencies;
  8. To conduct and sustain the appraisal and development of research potentials and local resources;
  9. To have sustainable access to existing as well as new technologies;
  10. To conduct seminars, workshops, symposia, lectures, and projects geared towards the application, and adaptation of new technologies; and
  11. To conduct relevant extension services within the bounds of the service area and concern of the University.

BS ECE Program Educational Objectives

  1. Practiced electronics engineering as professionals in their chosen field of expertise in the areas of telecommunications, navigation, microelectronics, instrumentation and controls, computing and information technology, signal processing, research and development, manufacturing, construction, academe, and technology entrepreneurship.
  2. Attained professional growth and advancement in their professional career
  3. Engaged in lifelong learning for continuous professional development

BS ECE Program Outcomes

a. To keep abreast of latest developments in the specific field of practice;
b. Effectively communicate using English and Filipino, orally and in writing;
c. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams (PQF Level 6 descriptor);
d. Demonstrate professional, social, ethical, and environmental responsibility;
e. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (based on RA 7722);
d. Advocate for peace in multicultural settings;
f. Demonstrate inclination towards innovation and technopreneurship;
g. Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, physical, life and information sciences; and electronics engineering sciences appropriate to the field of practice;
h. An ability to design and conduct complex experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data;
i. An ability to design a complex system, component, or process to meet desired needs within identified constraints;
j. Ability to recognize, formulate and solve complex electronics engineering problem;
k. Ability to understand the effects of electronics engineering solutions in a comprehensive context;
l. An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for electronics engineering practice;
m. Knowledge and understanding of electronics engineering and management principles as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments; and
n. Ability to generate new knowledge in the form of research or developmental projects to support national, regional or local developmental plans.
