The College of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CSPEAR) at Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City is the FIRST college established in 1981, offering degree programs in physical education and the ONLY unit in the country offering the degree of Bachelor of Science in Physical Education (BSPE) with areas of specialization in sports, recreation, and dance.
Known as the Department of Physical Education, it is one of pioneering units of MSU Marawi, which dates back to 1962 during its first operation. Tradition has it that faculty members, staff, and students of CSPEAR are equally distributed in different houses or teams during its Founding Anniversary celebration in a battle for supremacy. This year’s celebration is surely one worth remembering because it is primarily inspired by the faction system in the Divergent Series, a feature film series based on the Divergent novels by the American author Veronica Roth.
Behold, the factions of Abnegation (selfless), Candor (honest), Dauntless (brave), and Erudite intellectual)!
Congratulations Chainna Thiam Rosauro for bagging the gold medal in the recently concluded Philippine Eskrima Kali Arnis Federation “PEKAF National Battle of the Champions” held at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Manila, on February 25-26, 2023. Ito na ang best of the best! Hopefully you’ll be chosen as part of the Philippine National Team for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia this May!
Your Bangkaw family is very proud of you!
