The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. – BARMM Librarians Council (PLAI – BARMMLC), in partnership with the University Library and Department of Library and Information Science, will be hosting a PLAI BARMM Librarians Regional Council Summit on September 25-26, 2024, at the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management Pavilion. The summit will have the theme: The Library as a Digital Space for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and is expected to bring together 100 librarians and library staff.

The objectives of the summit are as follows:
1. Develop skills in building collections within a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) context.
2. Create library events and activities through the DEI framework.
3. Enhance strategies for organizing libraries within the DEI framework.
4. Foster a culture of dialogue through the sharing of research outputs.
