Goals & Objectives

  • Provide excellent customer service that enhances the rapport with students through responsiveness to needs.
  • Establish high quality jobs for target food service employees, including good wages and benefits, career advancement opportunities, access to training and capacity building, participation in decision-making, and opportunities for ownership.
  • Offering wholesome, fairly priced, and ethnically diverse food options.
  • Develop a catering service that supports skill development of the catering staff and meets the needs of the University Cafeteria.

Brief History

Opening

On October 16, 2022, a significant milestone was reached as Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. inaugurated the long-awaited “82 Pioneer’s Cafe” at the Mindanao State University-Main Campus in Marawi City, marking a new era of growth and opportunity for the university community.

A Vision by the Alumni

The “82 Pioneer’s Cafe” is a special project initiated by the MSU-ILS Alumni Batch of 1982, with Governor Adiong proudly included among its members. This project reflects the alumni’s continued commitment to their alma mater and the desire to enhance the student experience.

A Step Towards Innovation in Education

According to the Provincial Engineer’s Office, the team responsible for the project’s implementation, the café represents a significant step in the ongoing efforts to innovate and improve the quality of education in the province.

It was highlighted that this café, along with other upcoming infrastructures, will provide MSU with enhanced spaces designed to further enrich and accelerate the learning experiences of students.
