In celebration of MSU’s 63rd Founding Anniversary, themed “MSU: Fostering a Harmonious Balance Between Technology and Humanity,” the MSU College of Health Sciences (CHS), led by Prof. Athena Jalaliyah D. Lawi, PhD, collaborated with the Amai Pakpak Medical Center, Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur, City Government of Marawi, City Health Office of the Ministry of Health-BARMM, F and S Lakeside Pharmacy, MSU-Marawi Faculty Union, and MSU Supreme Student Government to conduct a comprehensive medical mission. The event took place today, September 4, 2024, at the Dimaporo Gymnasium.

The event aimed to provide accessible and quality medical services to the MSU community, including faculty, staff, and students. The medical mission offered services, such as medical consultations, blood testing, blood letting, anti-pneumonia vaccination, vital signs assessment, and even free medication distribution. These services catered to the diverse health needs of the MSU community.

To enhance the attendee experience, various student associations from MSU-CHS, including the Mental Health Advocates’ Club, Diabetes Mellitus-Hypertension Prevention Advocates’ Club, and Muslim Student Nurses Association, organized a variety of activities and games. These included karaoke singing (KaraOkay), a fun painting activity called “Face Your Feelings,” a dart-throwing game with prizes, and e-penpalling. Additionally, photo booths were set up for participants to capture memorable moments with friends and family. Attendees could also purchase toys, motivational stickers, and bookmarks.

Beyond medical care, the medical mission also served as a platform for health awareness and education, demonstrating the dedication of MSU-CHS to serve and improve the well-being of MSU constituents.
