The Mindanao State University-Main Campus, in partnership with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)-Revenue District No. 102 in Marawi City, hosted a Tax Campaign Seminar on the Ease of Paying Taxes (EOPT) among its constituents this morning, September 18, 2024, at the International Convention Center. It was attended by some students and representatives of different MSU units.

BIR representatives provided information on basic tax compliances under the EOPT law. This includes registration, filing, and payment of various kinds of taxes such as income tax, withholding tax, business tax like value-added tax (VAT) and other percentage tax (OPT), and documentary stamp tax.  BIR’s online tax services and the importance of tax education for the university community and all taxpayers were also emphasized.

The event is part of the implementation of Republic Act No. 11976 and of the university’s promotion of financial literacy and responsible citizenship among its constituents especially its employees by strengthening their rights as taxpayers, making them understand their tax obligations, and encouraging them to comply efficiently.
