A delegation from the Philippine Science High School-Bicol Region Campus (PSHS-Bicol), led by its Campus Director Engr. Lorvi B. Pagorogon together with PSHS-Central Mindanao Campus Director Franklin L. Salisid, embarked on a benchmarking visit to the MSU-Main Campus this morning, July 10, 2024. MSU officials, headed by the Executive Vice President Dr. Rasid M. Paca, JD, accorded the PSHS delegation a warm welcome at the OP Conference Room.

The MSU representatives presented a comprehensive overview of the campus, highlighting its academic programs, facilities, and the diverse cultural groups it caters to. This was followed by a guided tour of the University. Among the facilities visited were the MSU Golf Course, offering a panoramic view of Lake Lanao, and the Agakhan Museum, where various Meranaw traditional arts and crafts are housed.

The delegation then enjoyed a luncheon prepared at the MSU-Meranaw Cultural Heritage Center. During the meal, they were entertained by a captivating cultural performance by the Darangen Cultural Troupe, one of the renowned cultural troupes at the MSU-Main Campus. The Darangen Cultural Troupe’s vibrant presentation, featuring traditional dances, provided a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Meranaw.

This visit served as a valuable exchange of knowledge, cultures, and best practices. Furthermore, it not only served as a learning experience but also fostered a stronger relationship between the two institutions. This relationship is particularly valuable in exploring avenues for future collaboration, which has the potential to benefit both schools by promoting knowledge sharing and innovation in different aspects, including science education.
