Mindanao State University-Main Campus in Marawi City launched the international 18-day campaign to end violence against women (VAW) this morning, November 25, 2024, after the campus flag ceremony. The campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage participation across all academic, semi-academic, and administrative units.

This morning’s event included the presentation of the campaign rationale by Prof. Melba M. Angni, GFPS Campus Focal Head and IALO Director. As she stated, “Ending VAW campaign is not just a local event, it is an international campaign that allow everyone to understand its importance to all.

”It was followed by the introductions of key members of the GAD System Focal by the event’s master of ceremonies, Dr. Sorhaila Latip-Yusoph.

The said event was initiated with the distribution of orange ribbons and the symbolic unveiling of the VAW ribbon performed by key officials from the Campus. Throughout the 18-day campaign, MSU-MARAWI will promote online initiatives such as changing Facebook profile pictures to orange and encourages all units to participate in various activities in the campus.
