Every 24th day of October, the United Nations Day is celebrated all over the world to commemorate the anniversary of its official creation through the 1945 UN Charter.
Though it’s not a public holiday, people come together and celebrate the day with pomp and show in various cities in different countries. On this day, schools also usually organize special program to spread awareness about the significance of United Nations’ works. Hence, the yearly United Nations Celebration with the theme “Equality, Freedom and Justice for All” was held at Mindanao State University-University Training Center (Experimental Campus) last Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
There were many ways through which students contributed to the celebration. They participated in the different events intended for that day. They joined Quiz show, Poster-Making Contest with relevance to this year’s theme and other fun and interactive games.
Celebrating United Nations Day through students’ presentation and participation was also a way of acknowledging United Nations’ tireless work and a reminder of the importance of diversity, culture, and the spirit of brotherhood to everyone. MSU-UTC is true to its word to shape the future of their students by not only training them in academics but also in social activities such as this.
The magic of this special day is that it is not only celebrated by the UN but also by individuals all over the world who are eager to make their contribution to world peace and international cooperation.
