Mike Ivan B. Siga

DECEMBER 1 – Mindanao State University-Main Campus became a beacon of hope as hundreds of aspiring students gathered to take the MSU System Admission and Scholarship Examination (SASE) 2024. The annual examination, organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), offers not just admission but also scholarship opportunities for students determined to shape their futures through education.

The SASE has long been regarded as a transformative step for many young dreamers from across Mindanao. It symbolizes resilience, determination, and the pursuit of a brighter tomorrow.

One examinee from Lanao del Sur, Ms. Umpar, expressed the significance of this moment: “MSU is the best. It offers an inclusive and diverse community, fostering both education and values of its students.”

With its reputation for academic excellence, inclusive learning environments, and a strong sense of community, MSU continues to attract students from diverse backgrounds. This year, the OVPAA facilitated a streamlined application process from October 28 to November 15, giving prospective students ample time to prepare for this pivotal examination.

Held during the first week of December, the SASE not only assesses academic potential but also highlights the resilience and dedication of aspiring MSUans. It is a crucial step toward joining MSU’s prestigious programs, where students are equipped to excel and make meaningful contributions to their communities and beyond.

As the results of SASE 2024 are eagerly awaited, the MSU Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs extends its best wishes and unwavering support to all participants. “Best of luck to all SASE takers as you take this important step toward becoming part of the MSU family. Believe in yourself, stay focused, and give it your all. Whatever the outcome, know that your hard work and determination already speak volumes. Keep pushing forward, and don’t let any challenge hold you back.”

This year’s SASE underscores the transformative power of education and reaffirms MSU’s commitment to shaping a generation of leaders equipped with knowledge, compassion, and vision. To all aspiring MSUans, this journey marks the beginning of an extraordinary chapter—a future where dreams are not just envisioned but achieved.

Did You Know?

In 1955, the Mindanao State University (MSU) was officially established through Republic Act 1387. Its creation aimed to integrate Muslims into the national political and social landscape—a significant step toward fostering unity and development in the southern Philippines.

Fast forward to 1961, MSU opened its doors to students with a special mandate: addressing the “Mindanao problem.” It aimed to promote peace and progress in the regions of Mindanao, Sulu, and Palawan (collectively known as MINSUPALA).

Today, MSU stands tall as a beacon of education and inclusivity, continuing its mission of transforming lives and communities.
