The History of the Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO)

  1. RESOLUTION NO. 128 S. 1989

RESOLVED, that upon recommendation of the President of the University and the Executive Committee of the Board, Board of Regents (BOR) Resolution No. 53 s. 1989

Is hereby amended as follows:

    1. a) The Institute of Regional Planning (IRP) shall be merged with the Planning, Evaluation and Monitoring Office (PEMO) under the Office of the Chancellor; that the position of Director of Institute of Regional Planning (IRP) shall be converted to Director of Planning, Evaluation and Monitoring Office (PEMO); and that the merger shall include the personnel appropriations, records and properties of Institute of Regional Planning (IRP).
  1. SPECIAL ORDER NO. 449, S. 2000, BOARD OF REGENTS (BOR) RESOLUTION #72, S. 2000
    1. a) Merger of the Program Evaluation and Monitoring Office (PEMO) and the Management Audit Office (MAO) to form the Office of Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO).
    2. b) In the interest in the University and pursuant to the authority granted to the University President to adopt reformative measure, including management restructuring, to ensure economy, efficiency and effectiveness of academic and administrative operation the Program Evaluation And Monitoring Office (PEMO) and the Management Audit Office (MAO) are hereby merged to form the new office which shall be known as Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO).

The Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO) aspires to be the most comprehensive, reliable and updated data bank of the University. While achieving recognition as a lead unit in institutional research.

MISSION

The Institutional Research and Evaluation  Office (IREO) is committed to provide accurate, reliable and updated information needed by the Office of the President/Chancellor in making decisions or policy recommendations for the efficient and effective operation of the campus and to service the data needs of other MSU units and outside agencies.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To monitor and evaluate all on going programs and projects of the campus;
  2. To keep track of all issuances by the Office of the President/Chancellor as to their level of implementation and degree of accomplishment;
  3. To develop and institutionalize a comprehensive, reliable and updated University data bank;
  4. To consolidate and prepare the campus annual report and;
  5. To provide information which may assist the President/Chancellor in making decisions or policy recommendations pertaining to the operation of the campus.

Requesting all offices and colleges to submit their annual reports for 2022. This is the last call for those who have not yet submitted their annual report for 2022.

Failure to submit will not be included in the 2022 MSU Annual Report.
