Biography

Dr. Abdulcader Maruhom Ayo is the current Dean of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies. It is his second term as the College Dean. Duds as he is known to his friends is a Mining Engineer, Shariah Lawyer, Civil Service Professional holder, graduate of Master of Arts in Islamic Studies, Bachelor of Laws and Doctor of Philosophy in Philippine Studies. His love for teaching prevails as he was once a member of the teaching force of the College of Engineering, Adamson University, Manila. He continued this love when he became a lecturer a College of Law, Mindanao State University.

Before joining permanently, the teaching profession at the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies, he was employed as a Safety Engineer of the Bureau of Mines, Central Office in Manila in 1984. From 1986 to 1997, he works abroad as a Senior Engineer in a Petroleum Company in Saudi Arabia. He was also employed in the office of the Jurisconsult Supreme Court of the Philippines. His stay in manila made him to take the Special Shariah Bar Examinations and landed as one of the topnotchers. This motivated him to come home to his hometown, and joined the faculty force of KFCIAAS. He served in different capacities in the College until to Assistant Dean. Also, his continues teaching experience has enhanced his expertise in Islamic Inheritance Law, Persons and family relations, Islamic Jurisprudence and Islamic Court Procedure. This various role shaped him and him to what he is today. To date, he is one of the Special Shariah Bar Examiners 2022 on Islamic Law on Inheritance.

Currently he is residing at MSU Campus, Marawi City with the presence of his loving and caring wife Hadja Jannah Dayamala Macadindang Disamburun-Ayo; a Civil Engineer son, Jihad, and Registered Nurse Daughter, Jihan. His life as he described it at the age of 61 is a life full of bliss and contentment where he owes it to his family, friends, relatives, and most specially to Almighty ALLAH.
