Acsara A. Gumal, a licensed Civil Engineer has also earned a Master’s degree in Teaching Mathematics from the Graduate Studies Department of the Institute of Science Education (ISED) and the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM) of the Mindanao State University-Main Campus, Marawi City. He also has a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Science Education major in Mathematics under a scholarship from the Department of Science and Technology, a degree he finished in exactly three years in the same Graduate Studies Department above. He was among the DOST Scholars featured in the Coffee Table Book of the agency on the occasion of its 25th Founding Anniversary.
Dr. Gumal is currently connected with the Mindanao State University- Lanao National College of Arts and Trades located at Saduc Marawi City as one of its senior faculty members handling Mathematics courses. He was among the author of its two new programs, the BS Education major in General Science and BS Elementary Education and a sole author of its Computer Technology course.
He is presently designated as Director of the Ceramics Development Center and Manager of the Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab Marawi) of the MSU Main campus.
His more than a decade of supervisory experience with the Ministry of Human Settlement in the late 80s and with an engineering firm in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has honed his skills in managing people and making sure that all tasks assigned are done well. His academic background made him a better policy-maker as he partcipates in the improvement of the operations of the schools where he was and is a member of the Board of Trustees.
Dr. Gumal is so passionate in the performance of his work and does not stop until the job is done well.
