Jollymar M. Capistrano is from the lone town municipality of Socorro in Bucas Grande Island, Surigao del Norte. He loves his own home island and believes that the simplicity of life there is incomparable. He is one of the Fisheries Technologist Licensure Examination (FTLE) successful examinees and aced (top 1) the board exam with 85.25% rating last October 6-7, 2021.
He graduated Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and conferred the degree on February 3, 2016. He is currently taking up his Master’s degree at Davao del Norte State College (DNSC). Formerly, he worked for three (3) years at the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) – Fisheries Industry Development and Support Services Division (FIDSSD) of the Central Office which is ultimately the marketing arm of the Bureau; and for another 3 years at the BFAR – National Mariculture Center, which is one of the eight (8) National Centers and the flagship center for Mariculture Parks in the country. These experiences made him even more equipped to face the challenges in the competitive fisheries industry.
Currently, Mr. Capistrano is one of the faculty members of the College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (CFAS). He is now the College Secretary and handling various courses such as post-harvest fisheries, oceanography, and meteorology, among others.
