Misael M. Sanguila is an Associate Aquaculture Professor and has been the Dean at the MSU-College of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. Previously, he served as Assistant Dean, Department Chairman, and College Secretary. He studied PhD in Technology Management and PhD in Philippines Studies (major in society and culture) at the MSU-Marawi. He has two master’s degrees: Master of Science in Aquaculture (major in Fish Genetics); Master in Public Administration; and added to that has studied Master of Science in Marine Biology (MSc) at the FIMFS Consortium where he completed the academic requirements leading to the degree. Also, he secured the following diplomas: Diploma in Aquaculture Nutrition from the South East Asian Fisheries Development Center and Certificate in Governmental Management from the Mindanao State University, Marawi City.
His research interest is in the area of environmental policy development matters related to water management. He has been invited to international and national fora, symposia, congresses, and conferences in the following countries either as speaker, paper presenter, and observer such as in Bhutan, Thailand, Romania, Turkey, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, The French Polynesia, Russia, Japan. Some of his presented scientific papers were publish in international journals (ISI and Scopus).
He is a member in the following learned societies of professional organizations: South East Asia Limnological (SEALNet) Network Initiative, National Research Council of the Philippines, and Federation of Institutions for Marine and Freshwater Sciences- Governing Board Member. He is instrumental in signing Memorandum of Understanding or Memorandum of Agreements between Mindanao State University and other universities both here and abroad e.g. MSU and Universiti Sains Malaysia; MSU and 23 universities in the country; and in the future, MSU and Universitate Lucian Blaga den Sebiu.
At present, he is busy with classes and conducting researches funded by MSU and NRCP.
