“Fortune favors the bold.”
I am Mohammad Hisham M. Mocsir. I was born on June 30, 1999 at Balagunun, Maguing, Lanao del Sur. I am a Meranao and a proud native of Maguing, Marawi City, and Taraka. I was married to my lovely wife, Nur-hannah Bacaraman Abdulrahman- Mocsir. Today, we are so lucky to have our beautiful daughter, Aafiyah A. Mocsir. I finished my elementary and secondary schooling at Ibn Siena Integrated School Foundation. My parents are Dayamon T. Magdara and Mamundug A. Mocsir. I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies Major in Shari’ah at King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic, and Asian Studies where I graduated as Magna Cum Laude and University Class Valedictorian. Now, I am taking my Master of Arts in Islamic Studies Major in Muslim Law at the same Center. Furthermore, I also took up my Bachelor of Laws in the same University.
I am now working in King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic, and Asian Studies, Mindanao State University- Main Campus. I am a member of the faculty force of the Center. Moreover, I am now the incumbent chairperson of Islamic Studies Department. My duties and responsibilities in the Center are to teach, to supervise, and to exercise my administrative designation as the chairperson of our Department. I have many achievements since I started my schooling. They are too many to mention. Anyway, they can be seen in my Curriculum Vitae and Personal Data Sheet. I just love teaching. Even though I have many opportunities when I graduated, I chose to teach. Just like what they say, teaching is the most underrated yet the noblest of all professions. I believe that thru teaching, I can make great influence and impact on our youth. I have the chance to mold them according to accepted and God-centered ideologies. To simply put it into words, my mantra in life is deduced from the saying “Audentes Fortuna Iuvat” which means Fortune Favors the Brave.
