Biography

Fatima M. Maunda-Aragasi was born on the 11th day of November 1961 at Dilausan, Balindong, Lanao del Sur. At the age of (23) she was accommodated as an Instructor A on June 15, 1984 and became a faculty member of the Department of Teaching Arabic from the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies.

She has been a lecturer and a resource speaker to the ECCD-SOA program which was produced and implemented by the PROMEX Foundation Inc. and in coordination with the DECS, DSWD and DXSO0-Radyo ng Bayan for the period of June 1, 1992 to June 30, 1993. And she was also a resource speaker of the ABCSD-SOA program school-on the air from Jan. 1, 1991 to Dec. 30, 1991 thru DXSO-Radyo ng Bayan.

On Jan. 16-20, 2017 she has been invited as resource speaker in the Regional Capability Enhancement Seminar – Workshop for (ALIVE) Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education, sponsored by the Department of Education, CARAGA Regional Office. After a month she has been invited again as Resource Speaker to the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) Teachers In-Service Training by the Bureau of Madaris Education, BARMM at Lake View Resort, Marawi City on Feb. 17-2017.

She has been designated as a proctor, test center examiner, coordinator and examiner of the MSU-SASE for several times in the various campuses of the University. And she has served the University for (38) thirty-eight years, and designated as Department Chairperson for (14) fourteen terms and as a College Secretary for (1) one term that was on July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1996.

Due to her eagerness to let her students learn she was able to produce, write (3) three Arabic manuals namely: Arabic Elementary Manual 1, Arabic Elementary Manual 2 and Arabic Manual 3, which are now being used by the students of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic and Asian Studies as their textbook and workbook. The manuals are intended to cater the need to strengthen the knowledge and learning process of the students particularly the beginners and non-Muslim learners.

She is now the Department Chairperson until 2024 per BOR Res. No. 286, s. 2016 and with a rank of Associate Professor V.
