Dr. Wardah D. Guimba is a Professor V and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Department of Graduate Education at the College of Education, Mindanao State University, Main Campus in Marawi City. She holds a PhD in Education with a major in Curriculum & Instruction from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2011. She also obtained a Master of Arts in Education majoring in School Administration from the College of Education, MSU Main, in 2005. Dr. Guimba completed her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Islamic Studies (magna cum laude: 1996) from the College of the King Faisal Center for Islamic, Arabic & Asian Studies, and in History (2011) from the College of Social Sciences & Humanities respectively, all at MSU Main Campus, Marawi City.
Dr. Guimba’s research interests primarily lie in research methodology in education, teaching-learning processes, and general and professional education. She has co-authored 13 research papers published in international journals and an additional four in a local journal, CSSH Graduate Research Journal. In 2018, she also co-authored a paper published in the maiden issue of MSU-AJOSSH. Her research work covers a range of topics such as forgivingness among Meranao students, the grieving process and coping strategies of Meranao mothers, and Meranao ESL students’ experiences in online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, Dr. Guimba has actively participated in conferences, both national and international, as a paper presenter and co-presenter. She has also served as an organizer, peer reviewer, judge, and reactor in various research-related events. Additionally, she has presented her work as a poster presenter and has delivered lectures as a resource speaker at conferences and seminars.
With her extensive academic background, research experience, and active engagement in the academic community, Dr. Guimba continues to contribute significantly to the field of education, particularly in research methodology and pedagogy.
