Other Library Services and Expanded Areas

  • LockerLocker services are available in the Main Library, offering a convenient solution for students to securely store their belongings while utilizing the library resources or attending classes. These locker units can be rented by semester, per week, and on a one-day basis, with fees determined by the chosen duration of booking. Inquiries can be made at the Administrative Services Division Office.
  • Charging StationThis station allows library patrons to charge their cellphones, laptops, and other gadgets or use the area as a study space.
  • Ablution AreaTo cater to the needs of Muslim library patrons who pray five times a day and perform ablution, separate ablution areas, are provided for both men and women. This initiative aligns with the University Library’s goal of accommodating the religious needs of its patrons.
  • Prayer RoomApart from the ablution areas, there are Muslim Prayer Rooms for both men and women to cater to their needs to pray during the prayer hours while waiting or before classes. The Prayer Room for men is located on the second floor of the old library building beside the Records Section, while the Prayer Room for women is located on the second floor of the E-Library building, just above the Ablution Area.
  • Malano UPHubIn Meranaw, Malano translates to ‘beloved’ or ‘special.’ The Malano UPHub, located on the second floor of the E-Library building, serves as a wellness hub dedicated to promote shared responsibility among library patrons for the maintenance and care of library resources, facilities, and equipment. Its restful and disciplined ambiance is conducive to student concentration during their studies. The hub was officially launched on December 1, 2022, as part of the “I need. I value. I love my Library” campaign by the University of the Philippines Diliman – College of Engineering Library.
  • Mini-Conference RoomThe room is available for group or exclusive bookings. It can be reserved for conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings, and similar events. The room’s capacity is a maximum of sixty (60) participants. Users are requested to send a letter addressed to the University Library Director at least three (3) days before the intended date, stating the purpose of the booking. Other booking details may be inquired at the Administrative Services Division Office.
  • Library Tour and OrientationLibrary tour and orientation services are designed to help patrons effectively use their time and resources for research. During the General Orientation and Convocation, as well as College-based orientations, the library provides guidance on utilizing its resources and services. Library tours, OPAC assistance, and reference services are also offered upon request by schools and institutions outside the MSU campus.
